Growing great gardens since 1939
- In 1933 Lloyd Veit grew vegetables to fund Agricultural College, graduating 2 years later in 1935.
- Fernlea was founded in 1939 by Lloyd and his wife Mary Veit; starting as a retail flower shop in Delhi, ON.
- 1945 saw the addition of a second store in Aylmer Ontario, followed by 10 more locations in Southwestern Ontario.
- In 1956 Fernlea Flowers Limited was incorporated.

Wholesale focus
In 1974 The Veit’s daughter Virginia Howe and her husband Joe took the helm, expanded Delhi to a 16 acre facility and focused on the wholesale side of the business
Florida bound
1979 saw development in Florida with a farm in Stuart (currently 44 acres)
Florida expansion
2015 Further expansion into Homestead, Florida with 100 acres of production space
California dreamin’
2016 Expansion to western USA with space in Carpinteria, CA
Jupiter, FL
- Florida expansion with 300+ acre farm purchased in Jupiter
- 106 acres developed 2019-2021
- +36 acres developed for 2022

We offer our retail partners a full selection of annual bedding plants, and high-performance brands such as Rio™ Dipladenia, Harvesthyme® Vegetables & Herbs, Awesome Accents®, Hawaiian Punch® Hibiscus, Fabulous Ferns, Summerhill Hydrangeas and more.
