Greenhouses
We are one of the largest 3 greenhouse operators in North America, and the largest in Canada. With 6 locations and over 100 acres of greenhouse production, Fernlea produces over 2.5 million poinsettias and 1.5 million bedding plant flats each season. | |

We currently grow 62 groups of plants, with several varieties and colors within each group.
For spring 2005, we have 75 million plants growing in our greenhouse.

Planting technology
Specialized soil mixes and soilless media, custom containers and high-tech heating and cooling systems controlled by computers, are a few of the many other items used to provide top quality on a consistent basis. | |

Transplanting of seedlings into finishing flats is done by automatic transplanting machines. This allows us to transplant over 36,000 seedlings per hour. |

Hanging baskets
We sell over 2 million flowering hanging baskets to garden centers and large retailers, each year. Each season has a wide selection of colorful flowers in an assortment of hanging baskets.
