Historical Highlights from 1939 to 1999
1939 - Opening of first flower store in Delhi.

1945 - Opened flower store in Aylmer.

1947 - Opened flower store in Tillsonburg.

1948 - Fire destroys the warehouse, boiler room, and most of the greenhouses.

1952 - St. Thomas store opens.

1953 - Grand opening of the new display store and design rooms at Fernlea.

1956 - Ingersoll store opens.

1960 - Virginia Veit designs at the National FTD Convention in Montreal.

1962 - Simcoe store opens.

1967 - Completion of new headquarters at head office of Fernlea..

1974 - Lloyd Veit passes away, but not before he was awarded Cecil Delworth,
          the highest honor in Canadian floral industry.

1979 - Fernlea Nurseries opens in Stuart, Florida.

1991 - Tallahassee greenhouse opens in Florida.

1991 - Fines Retail opens in Ottawa, Ontario.

1991 - Plansky Gardens opens (begonia range).

1997 - Natural Beauty of Florida opens (plug range).
