  • Height: Plants are up to 15 to 20cm (6"-8") in height.
  • Garden use: In vegetable garden or raised beds.
  • Growing tips: Prefers well drained location and sunny position to prevent disease. Water at soil level instead of overhead. Cold tolerant.
  • Culinary use: Perfect for salads, garnish.
Cut head at the base when firm. Do not allow the outer leaves to change colour. Protect from slugs using pesticides regularly. When harvesting, you can cut every other plant to leave room for the remaining to grow. The key to lettuce production is supplying moderate but almost constant water, especially during hot weather. Unless there is regular rainfall, lettuce must be watered deeply at least once a week—more frequently during periods of drought. Use a thin layer of mulch to help the soil retain moisture.
