Sweet Potato Vine
Botanical name - Ipomoea batatas.
Colors - Bright green.
How to grow - Plant in full sun.
Features - An interesting, unusual choice for a hanging basket or climbing vine.
Fertilizer - Add a slow release fertilizer like Osmocote into soil
prior to planting. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer like 20-20-20
on a weekly basis if no slow release is used.
Soil - Grows best in moist, well drained soil.
Size - Trailing vine up to 24" (61 cm) in length.
Tips - Treat as an annual in cooler climates.
Prune to shape if needed.
Uses - Excellent for hanging baskets and container gardens
where a trailing effect is desired. Twining growth.
